Calzone is a calorie- and nutrition-tracking app. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Calzone mobile app, website, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. The agreement
These Terms form a binding contract between you and the operator of Calzone ("we", "us", "our"). They cover the website at this domain and the Calzone iOS app (including the TestFlight beta).
2. Who can use Calzone
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country, whichever is higher) to use Calzone. If you're under 18, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
You may not use the Service if you're prohibited from doing so under the laws of your country, or if you've previously been banned from Calzone.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us right away at szymon.szyszka@icloud.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. We may refuse, suspend, or close any account that violates these Terms or that we reasonably believe is being used to harm the Service or its users.
4. Beta software
Calzone is currently in closed beta. The Service is provided "as available" and may contain bugs, gaps, or unfinished features. Functionality may change, break, or be removed at any time without notice. Don't rely on the beta for anything critical.
By participating in the beta, you agree to give us reasonable feedback when asked and not to publicly disclose unreleased features without permission.
5. Subscriptions & payments
Calzone offers a free plan and paid Pro plans. Current pricing is shown on our pricing page and inside the app. As of the date above:
- Free — manual logging, barcode scanner, daily macros, plus one free AI logging trial.
- Pro Monthly — $9.99 / month.
- Pro Yearly — $99.99 / year.
Pro subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store. Billing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and price changes are handled by Apple under their terms. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period via your Apple ID settings.
Free trials and promotional pricing, if offered, may be limited to one per user and are subject to additional terms shown at signup.
6. AI estimates & health information
Calzone uses AI to estimate calories, macros, and micro-nutrients from photos and descriptions. These estimates are not exact. They're a useful guide, not a substitute for laboratory analysis or professional advice.
Calzone is not a medical device. Nothing in the Service is medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. Always consult a qualified professional before making changes to your diet, especially if you have a health condition, are pregnant, or are on medication. You're solely responsible for what you eat.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for anything illegal or to harm anyone.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our source code or AI prompts.
- Submit content that's unlawful, abusive, hateful, sexual involving minors, or that infringes on someone else's rights.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or other users' use of it.
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
- Create accounts in bulk or use automated tools to bypass usage limits.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, food entries, notes, and other content you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, process, and use Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service — including running it through third-party AI providers to generate estimates.
We may use anonymized, aggregated data (e.g. "average calories per breakfast") to operate and improve the Service. We will never sell Your Content.
9. Our intellectual property
The Calzone name, logo, app, website, and all related materials are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms. No other rights are granted.
10. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and how you can control your data. By using the Service, you agree to that policy.
11. Termination
You can stop using Calzone at any time and delete your account from the app's settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we're required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual-property rights, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply after your account is closed.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or that AI estimates will be accurate. Use of the Service is at your own risk.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Calzone, its operators, and its contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangibles — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of certain damages. If those laws apply to you, some of the above may not apply, and you may have additional rights.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll let you know — for example, by email or an in-app notice — before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the new Terms take effect means you accept them.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your country / state of residence], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes arising from these Terms or the Service will be brought exclusively in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws give you the right to bring the dispute somewhere else.
